PriimaL

When I stumbled upon PriimaL’s tumblr page his graffiti immediately grabbed my attention.  His art work pops, it’s smooth, sharp, and the coloring is clean.  PriimaL’s artwork triggered me to play some old school hip hop as I prepared to write this piece and I like that his work did that.

As a teenager PriimaL spent a lot of time in the Bronx break dancing.  One day he saw his friend doing a piece in his blackbook and PriimaL was born.  His friend gave him a few tips on simple lettering and how to color.  He bought himself a sketchbook, some markers and began practicing.  PriimaL said, “The biggest tip I can give anyone that wants to be an artist is to make as many mistakes as you can.”  He followed this tip which allowed his natural talent to greatly excel.  He does awesome work.
